Creek Drive). Dr. Coble-Temple will lead a free informational presentation on Recognizing Abuse in the Disability Community. “Dr. Coble-Temple is a powerful advocate for people with disabilities. Her amazing story serves as an inspiration to us all,” said Leacey Brown, SDSU Extension Gerontology Field Specialist. “Dr. Coble-Temple offers us a compelling testimony about the human capacity to adapt and overcome challenges. We are fortunate to have the opportunity to spend time with this amazing person.” The public is encouraged to attend her presentation at 3 p.m. (MST). “The value of this presentation is to bring awareness to this topic. No one wants to really talk about it because it’s “taboo” and uncomfortable,” said Chad Ratigan, Executive Director, Western Resources for Independent Living. “We need to talk about abuse. If we can bring awareness to this topic and help just one person get out of an abusive situation that would be worth it to me and our organization. Abuse does happen in some communities and being able to recognize the signs is beneficial for all providers.” Want your business to be seen? Get your display ad here!
