Mother City Doubles Disc
Golf Event Slated Aug.Chal28
The second annual Mother City Disc Golf Doubles
lenge will be held Aug. 28 from 1-4 p.m. at Memorial Park in
Yankton.
This Disc Golf Challenge will provide support for the Yankton County Parents as Teacher Program. This fun challenge
will have three divisions including Advanced, Recreational, and
non-competitive.
There is an early bird fee prior to Aug. 23, and a higher fee
thereafter. The top two Advanced Teams will receive a cash
payout, the first-place Recreation Team will receive cash back
and a disc while the non-competitive team will have a fun
round and support Parents as Teachers.
Jesse Bailey, tournament organizer, expects to draw more
than the 20 teams that participated last year. A Dynamic Disc
Sniper bag will be a raffle prize and you need not be present to
win. Ace Hardware is donating prizes as well for this event.
Deanna Branaugh, educator/coordinator of Yankton County
Parents as Teachers, said, “Last year, we had great teams
compete and they were so good humored as they were soaking
wet as a storm came through the area. Several of the Yankton
disc golfers also donated discs for prizes as did Ace Hardware.
We are hoping that by adding the non-competitive division that
families will come out and enjoy the day”
If you wish more information, you can go on the Yankton
County Parents as Teachers Facebook page, contact Jesse
Bailey at 715-563-3213 or contact Deanna Branaugh at 605-6614833.
