‘SiouxperCon 2018: Return Of
The Con’ Set For SF Sept. 28-30
SIOUX FALLS — “SiouxperCon: 2018 Return of the
Con,” presented by Black Hills Federal Credit Union,
comes to the Sioux Falls Convention Center Sept. 28-30.
The third annual show will host a full roster of guests
and several new and improved features. Notable special
guests appearing throughout the show weekend includes
Shea Fontana (“DC Super Hero Girls” and “Doc McStuffins”), Alyson Court (“X-Men: The Animated Series” and
“The Big Comfy Couch”), Tamara Glynn (“Halloween 5”
and “Freddy’s Nightmares”), Jason Marnocha (Megatron from “Transformers”), Jill Thompson (“Sandman”
and “Wonder Woman”), Tony Fleecs (“My Little Pony”)
and more. The guest list will also include popular voice
actors, prominent comic talent, and professionals from
comedy and cosplay.
In addition to the guest lineup, the convention will
offer attendees an exhibit hall containing more than 75
vendor booths, extensive programming and an artist alley featuring diverse talent.
Highlighted special features include the hugely popular SiouxperCon After Dark with events like Midwest All
Pro Wrestling’s SiouxperMania, concert by the Hip Hop
group DAD, comedy shows and more.
The con also welcomes the return of the biggest Cosplay competition in the regions, which has now expanded to a children’s cosplay competition on Family Day
Sept. 30. There are dozens of panels to attend throughout the convention including events such as The Magic
of Travis Nye, Women’s Creator Panel, creating comics
and seven rooms of board gaming, role play gaming and
video gaming.
SiouxperCon hours will be:
• Friday, Sept. 28 — noon to 1 a.m.*
• Saturday, Sept. 29 — 10 a.m.-1 a.m.*
• Sunday, Sept. 30 — 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
* — Exhibit Hall closes at 8 p.m. All Saturday After
Dark activities are 18 and older.
SiouxperCon has quickly grown into the most anticipated annual Siouxland nerd event. From its humble
beginnings as a question posed on Facebook, SiouxperCon morphed into an event that aims to celebrate all nerdoms in a safe, educational, and inclusive environment.
Brought to you by a group of local customer service
professionals, SiouxperCon is your friendly, neighborhood fan convention.
SiouxperCon celebrates several mediums — comic
books, cosplay, anime, board games, video games, science fiction and fantasy. A non-profit event, net proceeds
from the convention benefit REACH Literacy and the JY6
Foundation.
