Volunteer First Responders Complete the Team
Yankton County Emergency Medical Services Team includes volunteers from all around the county. First Responders in
Yankton County area towns including Lesterville, Irene, Volin, Gayville and the Lewis and Clark Lake area respond to their
assigned regions to care for the patients until the ambulance arrives. First Responders of the Yankton County Search and
Rescue are also occasionally called out to assist ambulance personnel in and around Yankton. This network of trained EMS
providers assures that the highest quality of care will always be provided to those in need of help.

EMS personnel will
make sure they are
working properly
and will have
additional supplies
and information to
help you be prepared
in an emergency.
Yankton offers many recreational activities involving water, and Yankton
County EMS constantly works to ensure everyone is safe and prepared for
water emergencies. The purpose of this event is to educate young people
and their families on the importance of water safety and provide free life
jackets to youth of all ages.
This event is open to adults and children of any age. There will be a
free life jacket giveaway, free food and free activities.
