YANKTON COUNTY
National EMS Week
May 15 - 21, 2016
YANKTON COUNTY EMS TEAM
MAY 15-21
National Emergency Services
Week has been observed
annually since being first
declared by President Gerald
Ford in 1974. This year, EMS
Week is May 15-21 and our
slogan is “EMS Strong: Called
to Care.” EMS Week brings
together local communities and
medical personnel to recognize
and honor the dedication of
those who provide day-to-day
lifesaving services of emergency
medicine’s “front line.” EMS
Strong: Called to Care will
make EMS Week a 365-day a
year initiative to give EMS a
significantly greater visibility
among other heal professions
and communities. Putting
EMS squarely where it belongs:
as an indispensable part of
the healthcare continuum.
Yankton County EMS welcomes
everyone to celebrate with us
to continue making Yankton
County “EMS Strong: Called to
Care.”
Yankton County EMS proudly
serves the citizens and visitors
of Yankton County providing
quality emergency medical care
in a safe, professional manner.
We are a committed team of
Paramedics and EMTs who
value our community and treat
our patients with dignity and
respect.
Yankton County EMS
employs 5 full-time
Paramedics, 2 full-time EMTs,
3 part-time Paramedics and 13
part-time EMTs. Our staff also
includes a Billing Specialist and
a Paramedic Administrator.
Yankton County EMS has
a fleet consisting of five
ambulances, one Advanced Life
Support response vehicle, one
mass casualty response vehicle
and a 6-wheel all-terrain
vehicle.
Yankton County EMS would
like to thank all of Yankton
County’s Area First Responders.
Without their dedication and
support, our team would not
be complete. Yankton County’s
Area First Responders are an
indispensable part of our team
because often they are first
on the scene of an emergency
and provide lifesaving and
supportive emergency care.
