May 21, 2013 • Page 17 shop online at www.missourivalleyshopper.com GAYVILLE — Memorial Day events are being planned by the Gayville American Legion and Auxiliary for Monday, May 27.The Gayville American Legion & Auxiliary Units will assemble at the Community Center at 8:15 a.m. and proceed to the following Cemeteries: Volin, 9 a.m.; Faith United, 9:10 a.m.; Mission Hill, 9:30 a.m.; Vangen, 9:40 a.m.; Gayville, 10 a.m.; Danish, 10:20 a.m.; Bergen, 10:40, a.m.; Meckling, 10:50 a.m.; and Gayville Memorial, 11:30 a.m. MISSION HILL — Vangen Lutheran Church in Mission Hill will be holding its 67th annual Memorial Day service at the (historic) “Old” Vangen Church and Cemetery, one mile east of town on 308th St. The public is invited to attend the service, which will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, May 27, preceded by a cemetery commemoration presented by the Gayville American Legion at 9:40 a.m. Officiating will be Vangen’s pastor, the Rev. Lance Lindgren. The featured speaker will be a Navy Veteran with the Submarine Force, Pastor Matt Green of the Yankton Baptist and Chaplain at Sacred Heart Hospital.
