The innovation grants were designed to fund projects in areas crucial to the needs of South Dakota’s long-term care participants. “Expectations are changing, and the long-term services arena needs to change in order to keep pace, with a focus on excellent quality care, ser- vice, and most importantly, individual choice,” said DHS Secretary Shawnie Rechtenbaugh. “These grants will help us kickstart a new strategy on the ways we approach senior care.” A total of 56 grant proposals were submitted.
