American Red Cross
Celebrates Promotion
Of Local Leader
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (August 15, 2018) – The American
Red Cross announced the promotion of Jennifer Ross, the
current Executive Director of the Eastern South Dakota
chapter. Ross has accepted a position with the national
organization, based in Washington, D.C., to join the Training and Development team. She will work with Red Cross
staff across the country and will remain based in South
Dakota.
“Jennifer has shown extraordinary leadership in Eastern South Dakota and we are happy to see recognition
of her hard work,” said Lynn Speral, CEO of the Dakotas
Region of the American Red Cross. “We are pleased that
Jennifer’s talents will continue to benefit the Red Cross
and are celebrating this move within our organization.”
Over the past three years, the Eastern South Dakota
chapter of the Red Cross has responded to hundreds
of disasters, mostly home fires, providing comfort and
support to those affected. Under Ross’ leadership, the
chapter has partnered with local fire departments and
community organizations to install smoke alarms in
homes that needed them. Nearly 4,000 individuals have
benefited from this program in 20 counties.
The Dakotas Region of the American Red Cross will
begin the search for an Executive Director in Eastern
South Dakota immediately.
About the American Red Cross:
The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides
emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies about
40 percent of the nation's blood; teaches skills that
save lives; provides international humanitarian aid; and
supports military members and their families. The Red
Cross is a not-for-profit organization that depends on
volunteers and the generosity of the American public to
perform its mission. For more information, please visit
redcross.org or visit us on Twitter at @RedCrossDakotas.
