It brings together local communities and medical personnel to recognize and honor the dedication of those who provide the day-to-day y lifesaving services of emergency fe medicine’s “front line.” Yankton County Emergency Medical Services employs four fulltime Paramedics, two full fu time Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), four Ts part-time Paramedics, 14 part time EMTs, a billing Ts clerk and a full-time Administrator. a . Two of Yankton County’s ambulances s are each staffed with two ffe responders, 24 hours a day, y 365 days a year, and are ready to respond whenever the call comes in. Yankton County EMS has a fleet consisting of five ambulances, one Advanced Life Support response f vehicle, one mass casualty response truck, and a 6-wheel all-terrain vehicle. Yankton County EMS would like to thank Yankton County’s area First Responders. Without their dedication the Yankton County Emergency Medical Service team would not be complete. Yankton County First Responders provide emergency care first on the scene and support Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics. First Responders perform assessments, take vital signs, provide treatment t um for trau a and medical emergencies, perform CPR, use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), immobilize bone fr tures and spinal rac injuries, administer oxygen n and maintain an open airway. They are trained a in packaging, moving and transporting patients. Recipients are nominated by a Yankton County EMS employee and then are voted on by a committee.
