I am 36 years old. I grew up in Huron, SD and graduated
from Huron High School in 1994. I graduated from Northern
State University in 1999 with Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary
Education with Physical Education & Coaching Minors. I
earned a Master’s Degree in K-12 Educational Administration
from Emporia State University in 2007.
I taught Fifth and Sixth Grade in Huron for eight years
(1999-2007). I was also an assistant coach in three varsity
sports in Huron; Girls Basketball, Football and Track.
I was the Elementary Principal, Title I Coordinator, Head
Girls Basketball Coach, Head Boys Golf Coach and Head Girls
Golf Coach in Freeman for five years (2007-2012). In Freeman
my girls basketball team played in two state tournaments,
including the first ever in school history in 2009. In 2009 I
was named South Dakota High School Coaches Association
Boys Golf Coach of the Year. I started my new job here in
Yankton on July 1.
I am married. My wife’s name is Aimee and she is a teacher.
I have two sons, Matthew, age 10 a Fourth Grader at Stewart
Elementary and Michael age 7 a Second Grader at Stewart
Elementary.
Hobbies: Playing with/Coaching/Watching my sons Matthew
& Michael with the sports they are involved in (basketball,
baseball, football & soccer).
Attending sporting events with my family (Specifically
Denver Broncos football games and Minnesota Twins baseball
games).
Disc Golfing, bike riding & golfing with my family.
My family and I have met a lot of great people here in
Yankton in just less than a month since moving here which has
helped to make our transition much easier. We are very thankful for the kindness and generosity that so many have shown
us.
